You may have noticed the introduction of advertisements to Tennessine. We'd like to explain why we have taken this decision, and what it will mean for the site.

Tennessine is free to use, and our aim has always been to create fun, interactive, and easy-to-use projects for everyone to enjoy. Our projects have been available to use since 2012 and we have always resisted introducing adverts which can be ugly and degrade the overall experience of the site. However, as we experience continued growth, we also experience increased running costs. Flag Designer is by far our most popular project, and we have seen a huge growth in users over the past few years.

For this reason, we are testing the introduction of advertisements to Flag Designer and other Tennessine pages. Not everyone will see these at first, and their placements may change for you over time as we try to find the best way of doing this without harming your user experience.

Our ads can be closed, so that you can hide them away, and they will not come back until the page has been reloaded. We want them to be as unobtrusive as possible, while still being able to support our running costs. We hope that you can understand this decision. What if I use an ad blocker?

We will not prevent you from using an ad blocker, or try to block access to the site in any way. You are free to use an ad blocker if you would like. If you enjoy using Tennessine, we'd ask that you consider whitelisting us as a way to support us, but this will always be optional.

Can I support you any other way?

We've recently launched the Tennessine Store, where you can buy custom flags made with Flag Designer. Right now, we ship to the EU, US and Canada. We're hoping to expand our product range and shipping countries over time.
